monika and me, we were in the city yesterday stroling around to check out houses for our project. it seems to be quite tricky. we were thinking of different options:
– Hardau, the four big tower on the way from our house to the city. they have quite spacy apartments on the top of the tower with the view on the city. (btw i’m trying to upload a picture, but although i am following your very simple instruction, it doesn’t want to work)
– an apartment in the neighbourhood of gessnerallee. we went to see an apartment of friend of monika, close to the bahnhofstrasse. beautyful! an old apartment with three floors, cinema, bar, wooden floor, terasse. and there is an abandoned house just behind the gessnerallee that could be ideal, also practical-wise.
– or we decide to create a space in the theater and work with the space of the theater. gessnerallee used to be a horse place, kaserne basel was a military place and südpol is a new industrial place.
all that we have to discuss in the detail, so that it fits our concept and our artistic desires and is practical realisable. like, what kind of house/space do we want? is it possible to connect it with the gessnerallee? how can we bring the public from one place to the other? or should we create everything in the gessnerallee (there is a restaurant in the gessnerallee btw)? and is the concept applicable to other places?… than we can start to get in contact with the people and make it more concrete.
monika can you upload your pictures you made? I found one internet that is quite cool. i’ll send it to you guys.

what part was messing you up for uploading the pictures??? i’m totally baffled it’s not working for you. you’re not trying to do this with the left column still there, are you? you have to apple-click when you click ‘write new post’ so that you open the page full screen without the left column…
mon, are you able to get it? i hope i hope… curious always to see more pictures!
about the house, i think we can think of lots of options still, for example this chalet from that gallery in gstaadt that we looked at before… they are dealing specifically with the arts (and also maybe we can ask the karma international for their help/connections/suggestions!), so i think they would be really open to using their residency space for doing an arts project. this would be less connected to the gessnerallee performances, but that bothers me less somehow, because i see the gessnerallee performance as being a separate project under the larger ‘curatorial umbrella’ as we had mentioned before.
the tower space you photographed would be funny! it’s a completely other feeling from using a ‘typical swiss chalet’ kind of world… this makes me think of globalised society–everyone everywhere in the world can be familiar with ugly housing block type spaces…it’s something to think about further perhaps!
